Carey Palenchar is a Pittsburgh-based culinary professional with a unique background and approachable cooking style. Carey grew up in St. Louis, MO, where she started her career in IT after receiving a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis. She later decided to indulge her passion for food by returning to school to earn her Culinary Arts degree from St. Louis’s L’Ecole Culinaire, where she graduated at the top of her class. In St. Louis, Carey worked in a variety of culinary fields including cooking instruction, catering, recipe development and testing, TV cooking demos, and food styling for print and TV. She moved to Pittsburgh, PA in 2008, where she developed and ran the Cooking School at Giant Eagle Market District.
